What kind of quality control is applied to health supplements?

The vast majority of health supplements sold around the world have been manufactured to either food or pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

In countries and regions such as Australia, Canada, European Union, Japan and the US, specific GMP standards have been established for the industry.

With the development of a harmonised framework in ASEAN, new pan-ASEAN GMPs are set to be implemented.

In addition, the global association IADSA published a single Global Guide for GMP for supplements in 2010, involving experts from across the world.
